CRY Tools

XML Sitemap Generator

Produce a valid XML sitemap either by entering URLs yourself or by crawling your site within safe bounds.

changefreq and priority are optional.

Fill in the form to see a result.

The request is sent from our server. Any file you upload is deleted after processing; its contents and filename are not stored. We keep a run record containing the tool, a result summary and anonymized technical data.

How to use it

In manual mode, list the URLs one per line. In crawl mode, give a domain and CRY walks a limited number of pages on the same host only.

Examples

Crawling a 40-page corporate site and producing a sitemap with lastmod values.

Use cases

New site launches, Search Console submission, migrations, static site builds.

Privacy and data handling

Crawling runs from our server, private network addresses are blocked, and crawled page bodies are never stored. In manual mode the URLs stay in your browser.

What this tool checks

Builds a sitemap-protocol urlset from addresses you enter manually, or from a bounded crawl within the same host.

How to read the result

A sitemap is a discovery aid, not a guarantee of indexing. Include only addresses you want indexed that return 200 and are self-canonical. Redirecting, noindex or cross-canonical URLs in a sitemap reduce how much the file is trusted.

Common mistakes

The common mistake is including every address, redirects and noindex pages among them. The second is setting lastmod to today on every publish: a date that always says today tells a crawler nothing and teaches it to ignore the real ones. The third is forgetting to declare the sitemap in robots.txt.

What this tool cannot see

The crawl stays on the same host and stops at a page limit. Links produced by JavaScript may not be found. The tool does not upload the file or submit it to a search engine.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need changefreq and priority?

No. They are optional and largely ignored by search engines. An accurate URL list and lastmod matter far more.

Does a sitemap improve ranking?

No. It aids discovery and has no direct effect on position.

What should lastmod contain?

The date the page genuinely changed. If you have no reliable date, leaving it out beats inventing one.

Is there a URL limit?

The protocol allows 50,000 URLs and 50 MB uncompressed per file. Beyond that, use a sitemap index.
